Her Excellency was accompanied by Mr. Diego Calatayud Soriano, Deputy Head of Mission and Mr. Enrique López-Alascio, Head of Consular Affairs.The second presentation occurred at 11:30 a.m., where His Excellency Abdullah Muhammad Alsaihani, as Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago resident in Caracas, Venezuela. #MondayInspirationOn Tuesday, September 10th, 2024, Their Excellencies Christine Carla Kangaloo ORTT, President of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, and Kerwyn Garcia SC, First Gentleman, attended the 35th Annual Ganesh Utsav Celebration at the Vishwanath Mandir in Sangre Chiquito. The event was officiated by Dharmaputa Pundit Doodnath Rampersad.Ganesh Utsav, or Ganesh Chaturthi, is a significant 10-day festival in the Hindu calendar, celebrating the manifestation of the Supreme Reality as Lord Ganesha, the beloved son of Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati. Devotees craft and worship an image of Lord Ganesha, who is honored as a cherished guest in their homes and hearts. This celebration involves puja (worship), prasad (sacred food), song, and dance, culminating in the immersion of the image in a sacred body of water during the Visarjan ritual.In his message, Pundit Doodnath Rampersad urged devotees to cherish life and the time they have, to be mindful of their desires, and to remember that they are "thrice blessed, multiplied by the grains of sand upon the seashore." The fourth and final school on today’s tour was the Vos Government Primary School. School pride was at its highest today as the students and teachers shared their rally call “Vos is the boss and we doh ‘lorse’ and if we ‘lorse’ we still de boss”This was to the delight of Their Excellencies Christine Carla Kangaloo ORTT, President of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago and Kerwyn Garcia SC First Gentleman. The standard five students had the privilege of one on one time with Their Excellencies and wasted no time in asking them some very insightful questions. One of the most interesting questions was “what kind of problems does the President have in doing the job”… in Her Excellency’s response she shared, it is the lack of willingness to serve when called upon to do so by The President. The students were reminded of the value of an education, perseverance and preparation. The Gasparillo Government Primary School was the third stop on the tour of four schools in Gasparillo today. Their Excellencies Christine Carla Kangaloo ORTT President of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago and Kerwyn Garcia SC First Gentleman first met with the standard five students with whom they discussed the roles and functions of the President after viewing the short film, A Day in the Life of the President. Then to Their Excellencies delight they were treated to a performance of the school song and an exhilarating performance of Andre Tanker’s Sayamanda. As the visit came to a close the entire school erupted in loud cheers as Their Excellencies greeted students.
